Loving and Serving our Community
At Nicholson Baptist Church, we believe that being part of the community is an essential expression of our faith. God calls His people not only to gather for worship but also to live out His love among our neighbors — meeting needs, building relationships, and sharing the hope found in Jesus Christ.
Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14). As His followers, we are called to let our light shine through acts of kindness, compassion, and service. When we invest in our community, we reflect the heart of Christ and point others to His saving grace.
We take seriously the call of Galatians 6:9–10, which reminds us to “not grow weary in doing good… therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people.” Whether through outreach events, helping local families, or simply showing up for our neighbors, Nicholson Baptist Church seeks to be the hands and feet of Jesus right here in our town.
Together, we can make a lasting difference — serving others, sharing Christ’s love, and strengthening the community we call home.

At Nicholson Baptist Church, we believe that sharing God’s love means caring for the needs of our neighbors. Our Clothes Closet is a free resource for anyone in our community who may be in need of clothing or other essentials. Whether you’re looking to give or to receive, we welcome you with open arms and a spirit of kindness.
Visiting the Clothes Closet
The Clothes Closet is open on the last Saturday of every month from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Everyone is welcome — no appointment needed. Come find clothing and shoes for the whole family in a warm, caring environment where the love of Christ is shared freely.
Giving to the Clothes Closet
Your donations make a difference! We gladly accept clean, gently used clothing for men, women, and children — as well as shoes for all ages. Coats in all sizes are especially appreciated during the fall and winter months.
While we encourage season-appropriate donations — for example, winter items beginning in September and summer items in March — please don’t hesitate to give at any time. Every gift is appreciated!
For more information or to arrange a donation pickup, please email Amanda Welchel.
Together, through generosity and love, we can continue to meet needs and share the warmth of Christ with our community.

Each year, Nicholson Baptist Church hosts the Backpack Giveback, a special community event designed to bless local families as children prepare to head back to school. This day is filled with joy, generosity, and the spirit of service — all offered free of charge to our community.
At the event, students can receive backpacks filled with school supplies, ensuring every child starts the school year ready and confident. In addition to supplies, families can take advantage of free haircuts, sports physicals, and a visit to our Clothes Closet to pick out clothing and shoes for the new school year.
We are thankful for the partnership of local high school sports teams, who volunteer alongside our church family to serve our neighbors with kindness and enthusiasm.
This event is one of the many ways Nicholson Baptist Church strives to live out the words of Jesus:
“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” — Acts 20:35
Come be a part of this wonderful day of community, care, and connection as we share the love of Christ with our neighbors in a practical way.
